Announcing Round-Table Subjects

Today Pituitary World News announced the subjects of the townhall-style round table discussion included in the Second Annual Patient Gathering conference to be held virtually February 6th, 2021 starting at 9:00 am US Pacific Time (PST) 12:00 pm US Eastern Standard Time (EST)  6:00 pm Central European Standard Time (CEST).

Medical Round Table on Hypopituitarism.  Doctors Lewis Blevins and Kevin Yuen will co-host a town-hall-style discussion focusing on the management of hypopituitarism. They will discuss typical symptoms and signs, laboratory features, and management of the hormone deficiency states associated with pituitary dysfunction.  They will reveal traps for the unwary that will assist you in your physician in managing your particular situation.

Nurses Round Table on Patient Support. Olivia Zack and Regine Magat from the California Center for Pituitary Disorders at UCSF will co-host a town-hall-style meeting focusing on nursing and related issues in a pituitary center.  Emphasis will be given on how best to navigate the process of obtaining prescription refills and medication authorizations.

 

Surgery Round Table on Pituitary Surgery.  Doctors Sandeep Kunwar and Manish Aghi will co-host a Town-hall-style discussion on Pituitary surgery. They will focus on indications for surgery, discuss surgical procedures, and review their approaches to long-term follow up of patients with surgical pituitary disorders.

Advocate Round Table on Patient Engagement, Support, and Advocacy.  PWN Chairman, J D Faccinetti will moderate a town-hall-style discussion on this critical subject.  Join me and Sharmyn McGraw from Hormones 411, Jill Sisco from Acromegaly Community, Leslie Edwin from the Cushing’s Support and Research Foundation (CSRF), Sheila Kawaja from the World Alliance of Pituitary Organizations (WAPO), and special guest Linda M Rio, Marriage and Family Therapist and PWN contributor on the importance of engagement, support organizations, and advocacy.
