Pituitary World News announces the launch of its Spanish edition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PITUITARY WORLD NEWS ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ITS SPANISH EDITION  –  SAN FRANCISCO: August 26, 2020. Co-founders Lewis S. Blevins, Jr. M.D., and J D Faccinetti announced today the launch of Pituitary World News en Español, one-of-a-kind information and news resource dedicated to people touched by pituitary disease to serve the Spanish speaking world.

“Pituitary World News provides a platform under which all current patient education and communication efforts can be more effective in reaching the public” Faccinetti said.” This effort to publish in Spanish more directly tackles this need in the Spanish speaking world, including the U.S. Hispanic market. There’s tons of information on pituitary conditions,” Faccinetti says, “we just need to get it out there effectively.”

PWN believes that increased awareness and collaboration will help diagnose thousands of people suffering around the globe. Current efforts have made some progress, but many of these disorders still go undiagnosed for decades. Early diagnosis would have a tremendous impact on a patient’s quality of life. “Patients need to be better informed, and doctors need to have pituitary disorders on their radars; consider it on the list of possibilities earlier,” says Blevins.

Pituitary World News is a platform where doctors, patients, and their families, researchers, industry experts, and the public can come together to raise awareness of these hard to detect rare disorders. “Pituitary conditions can go undiagnosed for many years, so we hope this effort will help more people get diagnosed early and properly, added Dr. Blevins who is the Medical Director of the California Center for Pituitary Disorders at the University of California San Francisco and Professor of Neurological Surgery and Medicine at UCSF.

PWN is a collaboration between Lewis Blevins, M.D. world-leading neuro-endocrinologist and pituitary expert, and J D Faccinetti, a communications expert and a patient affected by acromegaly, a rare disorder of the pituitary gland.

Pituitary World News publishes an online news magazine at pituitaryworldnews.org  since September 2014.
